- Yellow - Second Choice: There are ongoing concerns related to fishing practices or aquaculture methods.
- Red - Avoid: Do not purchase this fish; it is overfished or its catch or farming methods pose significant threats to the environment.
The VISwijzer serves as a practical tool for identifying sustainably sourced fish, making it easier for consumers when shopping at supermarkets or choosing dishes in restaurants.
This initiative is a collaborative effort by the Good Fish Foundation, Stichting De Noordzee (SDN), and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
